Description

This course involves structural theory, chemical transformations of aliphatic and aromatic compounds, elemtary mechanistic theory of reaction, elementary systhesis, determination of structure by classical and spectroscopic means and a brief introduction to biochemistry including carbohydrates, amino acids an peptides, heterocyclic compounds and nucleic acids and mechanism of selected biochemical reactions. Lecture three hours per week. Prerequisite: CHM 144.
